Brews and Bike Maps

Toledo, We have a bike plan.

We've recently been working with the city to help create the first public map for the City of Toledo's official bike plan. Today, there are a few pieces of the plan built out, but it lacks the connectivity that will exist once it's complete in 2025.

That's where we need your help! We'd love to hear where you are biking today and which routes you would like the city to prioritize. So come on out, bring a friend, and let's keep working torwards a more bike friendly Toledo!

Beverly Glow Ride #2

Let's do this! We had such a great turnout for our first ride that we decided to keep this going!

The next "Beverly Glow Ride," a community bike ride, will be at sunset Friday, June 24. The group ride will begin at 8:45 p.m., lasting roughly 40 minutes. You do not have to be a bike expert to participate, as the route will be appropriate for all levels of riders.

Riders are encouraged to decorate their bicycles with glow accessories that can be purchased at Meijer, Walmart and other local retailers.

To make things a little more interesting, we've partnered with our neighborhood Kroger (at Glendale and Detroit) to provide glow bracelets to be passed out to riders along the route. The riders with the most glow bracelets at the end of the route will win "Go Brightz" lights for their bicycles, provided by Brightz, Ltd., a Toledo-area company. We have five prizes to give away.

Please message us or email beverlyblockwatch@gmail.com if you would like to pass out glow bracelets along the route, as we plan to distribute these items at our Monday, June 6 Beverly Block Watch meeting.

We also plan for an ice cream truck to greet us at Beverly Park at the end of our ride, so bring some spending money!

Fête d' Eté-Toledo - SOLD OUT

Event Description
Anne Amie Vineyards, a family owned winery in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, will once again visit the great state of Ohio this May, and instead of the traditional winemaker dinner, Thomas Houseman, our winemaker and an avid cyclist, wanted to bring an element of summer fun to our winemaker dinners. Thus, we are hosting a series of progressive winemaker dinners on bicycle called Fête d’ Été (summer party), so-named because we will be on the cusp of Summer in the Great Lakes, and there is a sort of magic in the air this time of year, as well as a desire to be outside.
In each city, we will travel between 5 restaurants atop bicycles, with the entire dinner party in tow. Each ride, very casual in nature, will encompass no more than 12 total miles round trip. At each restaurant, chefs will pair a dish with one of our wines. This offers a unique and incredibly joyful experience and a fresh perspective of each city (not to mention it’s great for digestion!). We’ve held Fête d’ Été dinners in Cleveland, Toledo and Columbus (2012 & 2014), in addition to Detroit, Ann Arbor and Traverse City (2015), and it has been embraced by each of the restaurant communities, with everyone working together to bring an amazing energy and enthusiasm to this fun event.
2016 rides will take place in Toledo, Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati. Each dinner is $89 all-inclusive and includes a Fête d’ Été tour t-shirt. Guests are expected to provide their own bicycle. Event details with participating restaurants will be added soon. We hope you’ll join us!
